Glow

24x24 inch acrylic with mixed media and gold texture on cradled wood.
Bold brush strokes and vibrant colors create a dynamic forest scene dominated by trees and underbrush. The colors transition from warm tones at the bottom to cooler hues toward the top, suggesting a change in atmosphere or lighting.
Taken from my imagination and working with texture and paint, the artist captures a scene found in the Canadian Shield.
The Deer Trail

A scene from one of my most traveled trail at Birds Hill Provincial Park in Manitoba. A place where we often meet the deer and a place the chickadees can be fed sunflower seeds from your hand. A welcome treat in the winter.

This may be a small painting originally but with the magic of technology it can be enlarged into a nice sized print. The forests are rich with colour in the fall and I hoped to create some of that splendor in this piece.

I loved the colors I found in this frozen basket of foliage I happened upon at Pine Ridge Hollow Restaurant near Birds Hill Provincial Park in Manitoba. The snowfall arrived with one big storm and surprised this lovely potted beauties.

A Very Windy Day

A plein aire day with friends an get tricky when the weather does not agree with the outdoor experience. it all started off sunny but then the wind picked up and our art supplies and easels blew away. I love the painting though. This scene was Swistun Family Heritage Park in Birds Hill.

Acrylic fluid art pour which was then worked on with brushes. The kingfisher was always in this painting but it was a long struggle trying to ignor it before I realized it really needed to be in this painting. Arguing with the canvas is often a win for the canvas.
